Katherine Fink focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation. She represents clients in matters involving utility patents, design patents, trademarks, trade dress, copyrights, and trade secrets. Ms. Fink has experience in all aspects of litigation including discovery, motion practice, pre-trial efforts, trial, and appeal. Ms. Fink also provides assistance to clients concerning a broad range of issues arising under trademark and copyright law. Her experience in these fields includes prosecution of applications, enforcement, and oppositions.
Ms. Fink earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Fink gained invaluable legal experience serving as a judicial extern for the Honorable Amy J. St. Eve of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She also served on the board of the Julius H. Miner Moot Court Competition. Ms. Fink earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in Systems Science and Engineering.
Prior to law school, Ms. Fink worked as a program analyst for Lockheed Martin Information Technology under a contract with the Federal Aviation Administration. At Lockheed Martin, Ms. Fink was involved in resource allocation and project financing.
Ms. Fink is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a patent attorney.
